- The Association maintains more than 36 national committees composed of nearly 800 professionals from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- The Association was founded to help foster public understanding of the need for conservation.
- Members of the Association monitor and advise on issues ranging from acid rain and pesticides to exotic animals, public lands, migratory wildlife, and wetlands.
- The Association intervenes in state and federal court numerous times each year on behalf of national fish and wildlife agency challenges.
- Association staff participates in advising, testifying, and developing coalitions on Capitol Hill to draft and support needed wildlife conservation legislation.
- Encouraging cooperative conservation and coordination of fish and wildlife management at all government levels is priority for the Association.
