Are you AWARE?

The Association’s nonprofit counterpart, "America’s Wildlife Association for Resource Education (AWARE) is the only 501-C3 program of the organization. It was created in 1981 to enhance conservation education and provide current information to the public relation to scientific management of North America’s fish and wildlife resources.

In 2004, the Foundation’s funding helped support a historic Summit on Conservation Education, which established a new charge to create a national strategy for educating the public–particularly youth–about the benefits of getting outdoors and embracing wildlife and natural resources as part of the national curriculum. AWARE serves to help children learn about:

  • Science of preserving and protecting our natural resources
  • Facts about wildlife management
  • Expertise of wildlife professionals involved in caring for wildlife populations
  • Programs of federal and state agencies to conserve wildlife and habitat and provide public recreation opportunities.

One hundred percent of all contributions to the AWARE Foundation go toward ensuring that education will help carry the good work of the conservation community for generations to come. Each contribution helps education children and adults so that they ensure a solid future for North America’s precious natural resources.
